New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Maha Kumbh Mela, calling it a powerful symbol of India’s unity and cultural strength. Addressing the Lok Sabha, he drew parallels between the grand spiritual gathering and Mahatma Gandhi’s iconic Dandi March, describing it as a historic milestone in India’s journey.
Modi emphasized that the Kumbh Mela embodies national awakening and serves as a source of inspiration for future achievements. He extended his gratitude to the people of Uttar Pradesh and Prayagraj for ensuring the festival’s grand success.
However, the session saw intense opposition protests as Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi was denied a chance to respond to the Prime Minister’s speech. The opposition also accused Modi of concealing the deaths that reportedly occurred during the event. Amidst the uproar, the Lok Sabha was adjourned until noon.
