Chandigarh: In a transformative step for India’s legal system, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the successful implementation of three new criminal laws to the nation. The event in Chandigarh underscored the government’s determination to modernize the judicial framework and make justice delivery more efficient and inclusive.
Replacing the colonial-era Indian Penal Code (IPC), Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), and the Evidence Act, the new laws aim to accelerate trials, prioritize victim-centric approaches, and integrate technology into the justice system.
“These are not mere amendments; they represent a vision of a justice system that protects individual rights, reduces delays, and meets the aspirations of a modern India,” said PM Modi.
Acknowledging the collaborative efforts of lawmakers and the judiciary, the Prime Minister applauded the comprehensive overhaul, ensuring the legal framework remains relevant to societal progress.
The implementation of these reforms is expected to streamline court processes, foster transparency, and uphold equitable justice across India. The event witnessed participation from prominent legal professionals, judiciary members, and government officials, marking a pivotal moment in the nation’s journey toward judicial excellence.
