New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Indian shooters Neeru and Kynan Chenai on winning the gold medal in the Trap Mixed Team event at the 2026 Asian Games.
The Prime Minister noted that the duo set an Asian record in the final to claim India’s first-ever Asian Games gold medal in the event. He described the achievement as a memorable moment for Indian shooting and wished both athletes success in their future endeavours.
Modi also congratulated Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Prithika Pradeep and Chikitha Taniparthi for winning gold in the Women’s Compound Team event.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Indian archers’ performance equalled the world record, making the achievement particularly significant. Modi described their performance as a tremendous achievement and extended his best wishes to the entire team.
