Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised India’s significant achievements in the fight against tuberculosis (TB), highlighting the success of the 100-day Intensified TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. The campaign, which concluded on March 24, has set a strong foundation for India’s goal of becoming TB-free.

Launched by the Union Health Ministry on December 7, the initiative aimed to accelerate TB elimination efforts by focusing on active case detection, rapid treatment initiation, and community engagement across 455 districts.

Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda emphasized the campaign’s success, stating that it led to the screening of millions of individuals and helped identify and treat numerous TB patients. This has significantly strengthened India’s commitment to eradicating the disease.

PM Modi’s acknowledgment of the campaign underscores the government’s dedication to public health and its innovative approach to tackling TB. The success of this initiative is a testament to the collective efforts of healthcare professionals, policymakers, and local communities in ensuring a healthier and TB-free India.
