PM Marks Opening of Kedarnath Dham, Flags Off Chardham Yatra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday marked the opening of the sacred Kedarnath Dham, signalling the commencement of this year’s Chardham Yatra.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister conveyed his sentiments through a letter addressed to devotees undertaking the pilgrimage. He extended his best wishes and prayers for their safety and well-being as they travel to the revered shrines in Uttarakhand.

Highlighting the spiritual importance of the yatra, Modi said the journey to Kedarnath and other Char Dham sites reflects India’s deep-rooted faith, unity, and cultural heritage. He noted that such pilgrimages offer a glimpse into the country’s enduring traditions and spiritual consciousness.

The annual Chardham Yatra, which attracts thousands of devotees from across the country, is considered one of the most significant religious journeys in India, marking the reopening of Himalayan temples after the winter season.
