New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised India’s growing strides in the toy manufacturing sector, emphasizing how it has contributed significantly to the nation’s goal of achieving Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance). Addressing a gathering on the occasion of a national toy exhibition, the Prime Minister noted that India’s toy industry is not only flourishing but also playing a vital role in promoting traditional arts and crafts while boosting entrepreneurship.
“The toy manufacturing sector has become a pillar in our mission for self-reliance, creating jobs and empowering local artisans,” said the Prime Minister. He further highlighted that India’s rich cultural heritage, reflected in its toys, is being introduced to global markets, strengthening both national pride and international recognition.
The Prime Minister also pointed out that the rise of indigenous toy production has led to the promotion of local skills, eco-friendly manufacturing, and the preservation of centuries-old traditions, all while aligning with the vision of ‘Make in India’. He encouraged industry stakeholders to continue working towards transforming India into a global hub for toy production.
The toy manufacturing sector has seen remarkable growth, with many Indian brands now gaining popularity internationally for their high-quality, innovative, and culturally inspired products. The government’s policies and initiatives are also aimed at providing an impetus to the sector, promoting both small and large-scale businesses to take part in this economic growth.
