PM Highlights India’s Rich Cultural Contributions to Health and Wellness

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday emphasized India’s deep-rooted cultural heritage in promoting holistic health and wellness, stating that the country’s traditional systems of medicine like Ayurveda, Yoga, and Siddha continue to inspire global interest and recognition.

Speaking at a health and wellness summit, the Prime Minister noted that India’s ancient practices have long focused on the balance between mind, body, and spirit, offering sustainable and preventive healthcare solutions. “Our traditional knowledge systems are not just medical practices but a way of life that promotes natural healing and long-term wellbeing,” PM said.

The Prime Minister also highlighted how initiatives like International Day of Yoga and the expansion of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy) are gaining global momentum, bringing India’s wellness philosophy to the world stage.

PM urged the medical and scientific community to integrate modern healthcare with traditional systems for a more inclusive approach to global health challenges. “India is ready to lead the world in creating a future where wellness is not just the absence of illness, but a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being,” PM Modi added.

The event witnessed participation from global health experts, researchers, and wellness advocates, who echoed the significance of India’s ancient wisdom in shaping the future of healthcare.
