New Delhi: The Delhi government’s Drugs Control Department has seized more than 31,000 Oxytocin injection vials from a pharmaceutical facility in Patparganj Industrial Area for allegedly violating mandatory cold-chain storage norms.
The seizure was made during a special inspection carried out under the department’s enforcement drive following directions from Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh.
Officials said 31,700 vials of Oxytocin Injection IP 5 IU/ml were found stored at room temperature, even though the product label requires the medicine to be kept at 2–8 degrees Celsius to ensure its safety and effectiveness.
