Onam Rush: Karnataka RTC Rolls Out 90 Extra Bus Services to Kerala

Kozhikode, September 2 — To meet the festive rush during Onam, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has rolled out 90 special bus services to Kerala in addition to its regular schedules.

The extra services will run from September 2 until Uthradam day (September 4), while special return trips are planned from Thiruvonam onwards to help passengers travel back smoothly.

Buses will operate from Mysuru Road Bus Station and Shantinagar BMTC Bus Station in Bengaluru, connecting key Kerala cities including Kannur, Kozhikode, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Thrissur, Kottayam, and Thiruvananthapuram. Premium-category services will primarily depart from Shantinagar.

Travelers can book tickets both online and at bus counters. KSRTC has also announced festive discounts—5% off for booking four or more tickets together, and 10% off for round-trip bookings. Advance reservations are also open for the return specials scheduled on September 7.

With these additional services, KSRTC aims to ensure a comfortable and hassle-free Onam journey for thousands of Malayalis traveling home.
