Kalpetta, Aug 04 (IVC) With the recovery of 12 more bodies from the Chaliyar river today, the number of dead persons in the landslides at Mundukki and Chooralmala in the Wayanad District on July 30, has gone up to 369, the official sources said.
The arrangements had been made to bury the unidentified bodies en mass of which eight bodies would be buried today at the Harrison plantation’s land, the sources said , these eight bodies would be buried in the graves prepared side by side.
Eighteen personnel, who had gone for search in the Chaliyar river were trapped inside the forest. They were Emergency Rescue Force personnel, the sources added.
Live signals from Mundukkai and Chooralmala at two locations had been recorded through radar search and more searches would held tomorrow there, the minister said.
