Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Saturday said there is no cause for panic over the heat conditions expected in May, urging people to follow simple precautions and rely on official forecasts.
Referring to the outlook issued by the Central Meteorological Department, he said some regions may witness above-normal temperatures and heatwave conditions, but these will not be uniform across the country and can be managed with proper preparedness.
He advised citizens to stay hydrated, avoid exposure during peak heat hours, and take care of vulnerable groups. Farmers have been asked to carry out field work during cooler hours and ensure adequate irrigation.
