New Delhi: Theatre groups from nine BRICS countries, including India, Russia, Iran and South Africa, will present their productions at the BRICS Theatre Festival to be held in New Delhi from October 12 to 14, a senior government official said on Thursday.
Speaking at a press conference, Union Culture Secretary Vivek Aggarwal said India will present two theatrical productions at the three-day festival.
The participating countries are expected to showcase performances representing their diverse languages, traditional theatre forms and contemporary creative practices, providing an international platform for cultural exchange through theatre.
Russia will participate with two theatre groups, adding to the range of performances scheduled during the festival.
The event will take place nearly a month after India hosted the BRICS Summit in New Delhi on September 12 and 13, bringing together cultural representatives and theatre practitioners from the participating countries.
