A devastating bus accident in Nepal has claimed the lives of 14 Indian passengers, with 16 others injured, after the vehicle plunged into a river. The bus, carrying 40 passengers, was en route from Pokhara to Kathmandu when it veered off the road and fell into the river in Aaina Pahara, Tanahun district.
The bus, registered with the number plate UP (Uttar Pradesh) FT 7623, was transporting Indian travelers who had been staying at Majheri Resort in Pokhara. The accident occurred early Friday morning.
Rescue operations are in progress, with a team of 45 police officers led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Madhav Paudel from the Armed Police Force Nepal Disaster Management Training School working at the scene to recover the victims and assist survivors.
