MSME-DFO Thrissur Concludes Craft & Design ESDP, Empowering 22 Aspiring Entrepreneurs

MSME-DFO, Thrissur organized an Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (ESDP) on Craft & Design from 29th September to 13th November 2025 at the office premises. Over the duration of the programme, participants were trained in a wide range of craft-based modules aimed at enhancing creativity and skill proficiency. Hands-on training was provided in Nettipattam, Alavattom/Car Hanging, Thidambu, Paper Bag Making, Fabric Painting (including Indian art forms, stencil work, stamping methods, block and vegetable printing), Glass Painting, Mural Painting, Liquid Embroidery (mirror work, patch work, stone work), Tie & Dye, Bottle Art, Mouldit Craft (keychains, fridge magnets, Pichwai painting, Lippan art, wood mural), Jewellery Making, Pot Designing, Hand Embroidery, and Candle Making .

In addition to the craft modules, the programme also included important awareness and capacity-building sessions essential for entrepreneurship development. Participants received an informative briefing on State Industries Department Policies and Programmes , which helped them understand the support ecosystem, subsidies, and facilitation mechanisms available for aspiring entrepreneurs in Kerala. A dedicated session on Digital Marketing introduced them to branding fundamentals, online promotional strategies, and the effective use of social media platforms for market outreach. A session on Banking Schemes for MSMEs provided clarity on credit facilities, loan products, CGTMSE coverage, and financial support avenues. Furthermore, a comprehensive session on Ministry of MSME Schemes and Policies familiarized the trainees with various central initiatives, including skill development support, financial assistance schemes, cluster development programmes, and the benefits of UDYAM registration.

A total of 22 participants successfully completed the programme. As part of the valedictory event, the office organized a product exhibition, where participants showcased the diverse range of crafts developed during the training. Shri.G.S.Prakash, Joint Director & Head of Office, MSME-DFO, Thrissur delivered the valedictory address and inagurated the exhibition. The exhibition received excellent appreciation and highlighted the creativity, effort, and significant skill enhancement achieved through the programme. The ESDP on Craft & Design concluded on a highly positive note, equipping participants with practical craft skills, improved entrepreneurial awareness, and the confidence to pursue self-employment opportunities or expand their existing ventures.
