Modi’s US Visit Next Month: UNGA Speech and Possible Trump Meeting on Agenda

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to the United States next month, with a packed agenda that includes addressing the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on the 26th and a potential meeting with US President Donald Trump.

Diplomatic efforts are underway to iron out trade disagreements ahead of the possible high-level talks. Bilateral discussions between India and the US have already begun, aiming to ease recent tensions that arose over stalled trade deals. India has stood firm on not compromising key sectors such as agriculture, which has been a major sticking point in negotiations.

The visit also comes at a sensitive geopolitical moment, as Washington works to deepen its engagement with Pakistan — whose army chief has visited the US twice in just two months.
