Modi Urges Peace in Middle East Amid Israel-Iran Escalation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who briefed him on the intensifying “Operation Rising Lion”—Israel’s latest military strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites. Expressing deep concern, PM Modi emphasized the urgent need for regional peace and stability, advocating dialogue over conflict.

The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that India remains committed to non-escalation and stands ready to support diplomatic efforts toward de-escalation. Modi urged both Israel and Iran to exercise maximum restraint, reinforcing India’s position as a responsible global player with a balanced foreign policy.

As tensions rise, India’s Ministry of External Affairs has issued advisories to Indian citizens in the region, urging caution and close attention to local security alerts. The call marks part of Netanyahu’s outreach to world leaders to justify Israel’s military actions, while Modi continues to push for calm through diplomatic means.
