A missile strike on an industrial area in Isfahan has killed at least 15 people, according to Iranian media reports. The attack took place on Saturday when workers were inside a factory producing heating and cooling equipment.
The semi-official Fars News Agency reported that the strike was carried out by forces linked to the United States and Israel.
The strike comes on the 15th day of the ongoing conflict. According to Iranian Ministry of Health, at least 1,444 people have been killed and more than 18,500 injured since the attacks began on February 28. Several cities across Iran have been repeatedly targeted since the conflict started.
Earlier, on March 8, shelling damaged the Russian Consulate in Isfahan, injuring staff members. Moscow described the incident as a “blatant violation” of international conventions.
Iran’s Ministry of Culture said that 56 museums and historical sites have been damaged during the attacks. Among them are Naqsh-e Jahan Square, a 17th-century landmark in Isfahan, and the Golestan Palace in Tehran.
The UNESCO has expressed deep concern, stating that four of Iran’s 29 World Heritage Sites have been affected by the ongoing conflict.
