Kerala SSLC Exams to Start on March 5; Results Scheduled for May 8

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala SSLC (Class 10) public examinations will begin on March 5, with the results to be announced on May 8, State Education Minister V. Sivankutty has confirmed. The complete timeline — from the issue of notifications to the declaration of results — for SSLC, THSSLC and AHSSLC examinations has been finalised by the Pareeksha Bhavan.

The SSLC examinations will continue until March 30. The IT examination is scheduled from February 2 to February 13, while model examinations will be held between February 16 and 20, helping students prepare ahead of the final tests.

Post-examination tabulation and evaluation will take place from April 7 to April 25. A board meeting will be convened on May 7, followed by the official release of results on May 8.

To strengthen academic quality in the state’s public education system, the government has introduced subject-wise minimum marks for Classes 5 to 9 this year. Students who score below 30 per cent in any subject will receive special academic support, which the government has described as a continuous improvement initiative.

An analysis of the second-term examination results revealed a growing number of students securing E grades in all subjects, especially in higher classes. While 2,187 students in Class 5, 2,451 in Class 6, and 2,143 in Class 7 fall under this category, the numbers rise sharply to 14,418 in Class 8 and 6,153 in Class 9.

The Education Department aims to provide focused attention and targeted support to help these students improve their learning outcomes and reach better academic standards, the minister added.
