Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Police’s anti-drug campaign, Operation D-Hunt, launched in January 2024 to curb drug peddling in the state, has resulted in the arrest of 8,931 individuals and the registration of 8,646 cases so far.
As part of the operation, police have intensified crackdowns across various districts, leading to the seizure of significant quantities of contraband, including cocaine, heroin, MDMA, and cannabis.
Special squads have been deployed to monitor and take action against drug networks operating within the state. Authorities revealed that the operation was initiated in response to a rising trend of drug abuse among youth.
The police have assured that the drive will continue with strict enforcement measures to dismantle drug distribution networks and curb the spread of narcotics in Kerala.
