Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has dismissed allegations by the UDF regarding delays in the Wayanad rehabilitation process. State Revenue Minister K Rajan stated that the delay was due to a lack of financial assistance from the Central government, not the state’s inefficiency.
According to the minister, the Centre had not provided any funds for rehabilitation efforts and only in February did it approve a long-term loan arrangement. He emphasized that the state government has been actively working to support affected families despite financial constraints.
The controversy arose after the UDF accused the state government of neglecting the rehabilitation of those affected by natural disasters in Wayanad. However, the government maintains that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure timely relief and rehabilitation.
