The initiative is part of the state’s School Protection Group (SPG) program, which brings together law enforcement, teachers, local officials, and parent representatives to build a protective shield around young learners. Each school will have a specially assigned police officer who will collect and review complaints monthly alongside the school principal. Concerns will either be resolved internally or escalated to the relevant authorities depending on their nature.
Prompted by rising concerns over drug peddlers targeting students, this action-oriented initiative is Kerala’s proactive response to safeguard its classrooms. The SPG’s collaborative structure ensures rapid response and comprehensive care when students raise their voices.
