Kerala CM Stresses Role of Art Festivals in Fostering Communal Harmony and Unity

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has underscored the vital role of art festivals in promoting love, brotherhood, and communal harmony among the people of the state. Addressing the inauguration of the 63rd State School Youth Festival, the CM emphasized the need for such events to celebrate unity and mutual respect alongside artistic talent.

The CM called on participants and organizers to avoid rivalry and conflict, urging them to focus on the true spirit of these festivals—celebrating creativity and fostering unity. “Art festivals are meant to strengthen mutual love, brotherhood, co-existence, and unity among people,” he said.

The Chief Minister also highlighted that true achievement lies not in winning prizes, but in participating with conviction and passion. He encouraged participants to engage in the festival with this mindset.

Furthermore, he pointed out the growing trend where many individuals cease their engagement with the arts after school, and urged the state to take proactive steps to identify and nurture emerging talents from the school festivals.

With over 15,000 children from various schools participating in a wide range of artistic events across 25 venues, the five-day-long festival is set to be a grand celebration of talent, creativity, and communal harmony.
