Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has approved a ₹35-crore project to construct a new bridge at Chooralmala in Wayanad, an area severely affected by landslides. The decision aims to improve connectivity and ensure safety for residents in this disaster-prone region.
The design of the new bridge will consider the maximum water level recorded during past landslides to determine its height, ensuring better resilience against future calamities. This project is part of the state’s broader efforts to enhance infrastructure in landslide-affected areas.
Officials have stated that the construction work will commence soon, and the bridge is expected to provide a safer and more reliable transportation link for the local community.
