Karnataka Power Sharing: CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM Shivakumar’s Deal Still Under Negotiation

In Karnataka, the power-sharing discussions between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar are still ongoing, with the finer details yet to be finalized. Both leaders had initially agreed on a five-year tenure with an equal power split, but sources reveal that there are still disagreements over the specific terms.

Shivakumar is reportedly seeking to hold the CM position for the first half of the tenure, and has made it clear that he will not accept the deputy role. Despite the back-and-forth, Congress leadership, including party president Mallikarjun Kharge, is closely involved in the discussions to ensure a final agreement is reached soon​.
