Jharkhand Election Phase 1 Begins with Strong Voter Turnout: 13.03% by 9 AM, Simdega Leads at 15.09%

The Jharkhand Assembly elections kicked off with an enthusiastic voter turnout, hitting 13.03% by 9 AM in the first phase of polling. Simdega district leads the pack with a turnout of 15.09%, reflecting high voter engagement from the very start. Polling stations opened at 7 AM, and voters from both rural and urban areas have shown up in large numbers, signaling strong public interest in the election.

Security has been heightened across sensitive regions, with paramilitary forces and local law enforcement deployed to ensure smooth and secure polling. Besides Simdega, districts like Lohardaga and Chatra are witnessing healthy turnout rates. To encourage voter participation, the Election Commission has also set up awareness booths and various initiatives.
