Kottayam, Aug 22 (IVC) It is learnt that the investigators have certain clues following the revelation of a woman that she saw Jesna Maria at a Mundakkayam lodge and the interrogation of the controversial lodge owner , they have certain positive clues in connection with missing of the 20-year old woman .
The CBI investigators had interrogated the owner of the lodge, Biju Xavier for about an hour on Aug 20 at his lodge. Earlier the investigators had inspected the rooms of the lodge and its vicinity and checked the records of the lodge. They found that the records of the lodge were not kept properly.
Jesna Maria from Ranni near here was reported missing since March 22, 2018, the police said.
The investigators have taken seriously the reported statement of the woman when Jesna smiled at her in the lodge she found Jesna’s teeth were tied with an iron wire. The investigators were of the firm opinion that the reported statement of the woman need not be untrue.
Following the interrogation of the lodge owner, the investigators were hopeful that they could trace the missing woman. The investigators are thinking of interrogating the woman as she had told the crime branch officials of her meeting the woman at the Mundakkayam lodge.
However, the crime branch officers who had probed the case said the a probe was conducted based on her statement earlier. But no corroborating evidence was found to prove Jesna’s arrival at the lodge.
The CBI investigators have collected the details of the persons who were on duty at the lodge on that particular day. The investigators suspected that the lodge owner knew of the missing of the woman and the her disappearance for over six years.
The Thiruvananthapuraam Chief Judicial Magistrate Court had this May ordered a reinvestigation into the missing case of Jesna while considering a petition filed by her father James Joseph. The CBI in its final report submitted to the court, had stated that they could not find out what happened to Jesna. The report also stated that there was no evidence to confirm whether she was alive or not.
