IndiGo Steps In with Compensation Boost: Stranded Flyers to Receive ₹10,000 Travel Vouchers

New Delhi: Offering significant relief after a massive flight disruption, IndiGo has rolled out ₹10,000 travel vouchers for all passengers affected by cancellations on December 3, 4, and 5. These vouchers can be redeemed on any IndiGo flight within the next 12 months, giving stranded travellers a flexible way to rebook their journeys.

The airline’s gesture comes on top of the mandatory compensation laid out by aviation rules. Passengers whose flights were cancelled within 24 hours of departure are also entitled to a full refund plus ₹5,000–₹10,000 in compensation based on travel distance.

Amid public outrage over the flight chaos, the DGCA tightened its grip on the airline, deploying senior officials to oversee operations at IndiGo’s Gurugram office. An eight-member monitoring committee has been set up, with two members stationed directly inside the airline’s headquarters, along with additional senior officers for continuous supervision.

Despite the recent crisis, IndiGo has announced plans to operate 1,950 flights today, signaling efforts to restore normal operations and regain passenger trust.
