IndiGo Shines in Low-Cost Airline Safety Rankings, but No Indian Full-Service Carrier Makes the Top 25

In the latest 2025 safety rankings from AirlineRatings.com, IndiGo has earned a notable distinction as the only Indian airline to feature in the low-cost carrier category, securing a respectable 19th place among the world’s safest budget airlines. However, no Indian full-service airline made it to the top 25 safest carriers globally.

The rankings assess airlines based on critical safety measures, including crash history, pilot training standards, and adherence to global safety protocols.

On the global stage, Air New Zealand has been crowned the safest airline of 2025, with Qantas in second, followed by a tie for third place among Cathay Pacific, Qatar Airways, and Emirates.

In the low-cost category, Hong Kong Express took the top spot, with Jetstar Group, Ryanair, and easyJet rounding out the safest budget carriers.

IndiGo’s recognition in these rankings underscores its strong commitment to maintaining rigorous safety protocols, reaffirming its reputation as a reliable choice for budget-conscious travelers in India.
