New Delhi: In a major development linked to the ongoing IndiGo crisis, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has dismissed four senior officials responsible for monitoring the airline. The action marks the first time officials have been removed in connection with the crisis.
Those dismissed include Deputy Chief Flight Operations Inspector Rishiraj Chatterjee, Senior Flight Operations Inspector Seema Jamnani, and Flight Operations Inspectors Anil Kumar Pokhriyal and Priyam Kaushik. All four were serving on a contractual basis.
The DGCA’s move comes amid growing scrutiny of IndiGo’s operational issues. Earlier, the aviation regulator had summoned IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers, seeking detailed explanations on the airline’s efforts to restore disrupted services, process passenger refunds, and provide compensation where required.
This decisive step signals increased regulatory pressure on the airline as authorities push for swift corrective measures to stabilize operations and address passenger grievances.
