Dubai: Indian Ambassador to the UAE Deepak Mittal on Thursday said he was reassured after meeting Captain Smit Machchhar, who is recovering from serious injuries sustained while allegedly preventing his co-pilot from crashing a Flydubai flight.
Machchhar was reportedly stabbed by his co-pilot inside the cockpit of Flydubai flight FZ1073, which was travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv on Wednesday.
The flight, carrying 174 people, made an emergency landing in Tabuk, northwestern Saudi Arabia, following the incident.
Mittal said Machchhar was in good health and recovering well after the ordeal.
