India to Resume Operations at 32 Airports Closed Amid Border Tensions with Pakistan

New Delhi: In a move towards restoring normalcy, the Airports Authority of India has announced the reopening of 32 airports that were temporarily shut down due to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan. The closure, which began on May 9, was enforced as a precaution following intelligence alerts about possible threats to key border airports such as Srinagar and Amritsar.

Flight operations at Srinagar Airport are set to resume from tomorrow, marking the end of a three-day disruption in air travel across the northwestern border regions.

The Airports Authority underscored that the safety of passengers and airline staff remains paramount, and urged travelers to reconfirm their flight schedules with respective carriers. Authorities added that all standard protocols are being rigorously implemented to ensure a smooth and secure transition to regular operations.
