A recent Boston Consulting Group (BCG) AI Radar survey revealed that 80% of Indian companies have made AI a top strategic priority, outpacing the global average of 75%. Impressively, 69% of these firms plan to expand their AI investments, with one-third committing over $25 million to AI projects—solidifying India’s place among the world’s leading AI investors.
Adding momentum to this growth, Microsoft announced a massive $3 billion investment to scale up its Azure cloud and AI infrastructure in India over the next two years. This strategic move also includes a bold plan to upskill 10 million Indians in AI technologies by 2030, unlocking vast opportunities in the digital economy.
Further strengthening India’s AI ecosystem, the government approved the ambitious IndiaAI Mission, backed by a ₹10,371.92 crore budget. Spearheaded by the IndiaAI Independent Business Division under the Digital India Corporation, this initiative aims to accelerate AI integration across sectors—fueling innovation, economic growth, and large-scale job creation.
