Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the rich cultural heritage and accomplishments of the Bodo community during the inaugural ceremony of the 1st Bodoland Mohotsav in New Delhi. The Prime Minister highlighted the transformative impact of the 2020 Bodo Peace Accord, which laid the foundation for sustained peace and development in the region. He emphasized that the Bodo people’s achievements symbolize the vibrant spirit of India’s North-East, which he referred to as the “Ashtalakshmi” of the nation.
The festival, themed “Ethos of Peace and Harmony: An Integral Part of Nation Building,” showcased Bodo art, literature, and traditions, while also hosting discussions on education, cultural preservation, and integration. PM Modi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empowering the Bodo community and ensuring their continued progress.
