India on High Alert After Operation Sindoor; Border Tensions Mount, All-Party Meeting Called Today

New Delhi: In the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, India is on high alert as tensions escalate along the Line of Control (LoC). With fears of a potential Pakistani counterattack, the Indian government has issued a stern warning — any provocation will be met with a decisive response.

Pakistani forces have reportedly intensified shelling across the border, targeting civilian areas. Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi remains in constant communication with troops on the ground, as the military closely monitors ceasefire violations and troop movements.

In response to the heightened threat, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered the evacuation of residents from vulnerable border villages. Emergency relief measures are underway, with ₹5 crore allocated to each border district and ₹2 crore to other districts to ensure food supplies and the construction of shelters and bunkers.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired an urgent video conference with all district officials, directing swift action to safeguard the population.

Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure, schools across Kashmir remain shut, and Srinagar Airport is closed for the day.

Against this backdrop of growing instability, the central government has convened a high-level all-party meeting at 11 AM today at the Parliament complex. Top ministers, including those from the Home and Defence portfolios, will brief political leaders on national security strategies, diplomatic efforts, and Pakistan’s continued provocations following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives.
