India Assures Fuel Supply Stability Amid West Asia Crisis

The Government of India has said fuel supply in the country remains stable despite the ongoing West Asia crisis. It urged citizens not to panic or believe rumours. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said petrol pumps and LPG outlets are functioning normally. There is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or LPG.

Authorities reported panic buying in some areas due to misinformation. The government advised people to rely only on official updates. Refineries are operating at high capacity. Adequate crude oil stocks are available. LPG production has been increased to meet demand.

Additional LPG supply has been allocated to priority sectors, including migrant workers. Over 37,000 small cylinders were sold in a single day. States and Union Territories have been asked to act against hoarding and black marketing. They have also been told to hold daily briefings and monitor fake news. Shipping and port operations remain normal. Indian vessels and seafarers are safe.

The government said around 4.5 lakh passengers have returned to India since February 28 as flight operations improve. Officials stressed that India has sufficient energy reserves and there is no need for panic buying.
