ICC Announces Prize Money for T20 World Cup; India Receives Highest Share
New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the prize money distribution for teams that participated in the T20 World Cup. A total of $11.25 million (around ₹103 crore) has been allocated among all participating nations. The prize money is distributed based on the teams’ performances in the tournament.
The India national cricket team, which emerged as the champions, received the highest share of the prize pool. India was awarded $2,639,423 (approximately ₹24.25 crore).
Runners-up New Zealand national cricket team received $1,422,692 (about ₹13.08 crore).
Among the semifinalists, South Africa national cricket team received $1,005,577 (around ₹9.24 crore), while England cricket team was awarded $974,423 (approximately ₹8.96 crore).
Meanwhile, Pakistan national cricket team will receive $522,692 (around ₹4.80 crore).
The ICC stated that teams are awarded prize money according to their progress in the tournament, including performances in the group stage, Super Eight stage, and knockout rounds.
