In Mumbai and nearby regions, roads and railway lines have been inundated, creating major traffic chaos and stranding commuters. As the rains continue unabated, officials deemed it unsafe for the Prime Minister to proceed with his visit.
A fresh date for the rescheduled visit will be announced soon, according to official sources.
