Gold Slips Below ₹74,000 in Kerala Amid Global Tensions; ₹440 Plunge Per Sovereign

Kochi –Gold prices in Kerala have once again dipped below the ₹74,000 mark, dropping by ₹440 per sovereign (8 grams). The current rate now stands at ₹73,680 per sovereign, with the price per gram sliding by ₹55 to ₹9,210.

This sudden drop comes after a period of heightened volatility. On June 13, gold had climbed past the previous all-time high of ₹74,320 (set on April 22), sparking predictions of a surge beyond ₹75,000. However, that bullish momentum has now reversed.

Market experts point to rising geopolitical tensions, particularly the Iran-Israel conflict, as a key factor driving investors to gold as a safe-haven asset—leading to erratic price shifts.

Analysts also cite increased investment demand in recent weeks as a contributor to the price hike, but note that the latest market correction signals uncertainty in global sentiment.

With such sharp swings, financial advisors are urging caution, recommending investors tread carefully in gold markets during these unpredictable times.
