Gold Shines Bright Again: Prices Soar by ₹920 per Sovereign in Kerala

Kochi: Kerala’s gold market is glittering once more as prices shot up by ₹920 per sovereign (pavan) in just a single day, marking a strong rebound after recent fluctuations. With the latest hike, one sovereign now costs ₹92,120, while the price per gram has climbed to ₹11,510, an increase of ₹115.

Gold rates saw wild swings on Friday, rising to ₹92,000 per sovereign in the morning before dipping by ₹800 in the evening to ₹91,200. Earlier this week, prices had almost matched the record high of ₹97,360 per sovereign — a level last seen on October 17 — before cooling off.

The lowest price this month was recorded on October 3, when gold fell to ₹86,560 per sovereign, showing how dramatically the market has moved since.

Analysts say the latest upswing is driven by global economic uncertainty, particularly instability in the U.S. economy and volatility in international gold markets. These global shifts have rippled into India, pushing domestic prices upward once again — keeping both traders and buyers on edge.
