Kochi: Gold prices in Kerala have once again risen above ₹99,000 per sovereign. After falling below the ₹99,000 mark yesterday—following a cumulative drop of ₹960 in three phases—the price rebounded today with an increase of ₹120 per sovereign, taking it back above the psychological level.
The price of one sovereign of gold now stands at ₹99,040, while the price per gram has increased by ₹15 to ₹12,380.
Gold prices had slipped below ₹1 lakh after a sharp single-day decline of ₹2,240, following a record-breaking rally. On December 23, gold prices crossed the ₹1 lakh mark for the first time in Kerala. The upward trend continued in the days that followed, reaching an all-time high of ₹1,04,440 per sovereign on Saturday, before prices began to decline.
Fluctuations in the international market continue to have a direct impact on gold prices in Kerala.
