Gold Prices Drop by ₹275 Per Gram; Silver Rates Remain Stable

Thrissur: Gold prices witnessed a sharp decline on Saturday, offering relief to jewellery buyers across Kerala.

According to the latest rates, the price of 916 hallmark gold has fallen by ₹275 per gram, bringing the rate down to ₹14,000 per gram. The price of eight grams (one sovereign) now stands at ₹1,12,000.

The rate of 18-carat gold has been fixed at ₹11,565 per gram and ₹92,520 for eight grams.

Meanwhile, silver prices remained at ₹265 per gram, with eight grams priced at ₹2,120.

Jewellery traders said the decline in gold prices could encourage purchases, especially among customers planning weddings and other special occasions. Global market trends and fluctuations in currency exchange rates continue to influence domestic gold prices.
