Kochi: Gold prices continue to skyrocket in the state, hitting an all-time high of ₹63,240 per pound, following a ₹760 increase. The price per gram also surged by ₹95, now standing at ₹7,905. This comes just a day after gold surpassed ₹62,000 for the first time.
This sharp rise follows U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of increased import taxes, which triggered a drop in the stock market. Investors, seeking safer avenues, have turned to gold, pushing prices even higher. Yesterday alone, gold saw a jump of ₹840.
The price of gold first crossed ₹60,000 per pound on the 22nd of last month, and in just one month, its value has skyrocketed by ₹6,000.
