According to reports, Odinga collapsed during his morning walk at an Ayurvedic treatment centre in Koothattukulam, Ernakulam district, where he had been undergoing wellness therapy. Despite being rushed to Devamatha Hospital and receiving immediate medical attention, doctors were unable to revive him.

A towering figure in African politics, Odinga’s decades-long career was defined by his unwavering commitment to democracy, social justice, and national unity. Serving as Kenya’s Prime Minister from 2008 to 2013 under a historic power-sharing arrangement, he played a crucial role in steering the country through one of its most challenging political phases.
