New Delhi: Delhi Police is considering legal action against allegedly abusive and objectionable social media content targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders during the CJP protest held at Jantar Mantar, according to police sources.
Officials said the police have reviewed posts, videos, and comments shared during and after the protest. Based on the findings, notices may be issued to social media platforms directing them to remove content considered abusive or in violation of applicable laws.
“After reviewing the content uploaded during and after the protest, police will issue notices to remove posts that are abusive in nature,” a police source said.
The proposed action is part of the police’s scrutiny of online content linked to the protest. Authorities are yet to announce whether any further legal proceedings will be initiated against individuals responsible for the posts.
