In a landmark development for India’s infrastructure, the much-awaited train service connecting Delhi to Kashmir is scheduled to begin on January 26, 2025. This announcement comes as the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project nears completion, with major construction work, including tunnels and bridges, wrapping up. The service will offer direct rail connectivity to Kashmir, bridging the region with the rest of the country for the first time.

The inaugural service will coincide with the Republic Day celebrations, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to unveil the New Delhi-Baramulla railway line.
