Delhi-Kashmir Train Service to Launch on Republic Day 2025

In a landmark development for India’s infrastructure, the much-awaited train service connecting Delhi to Kashmir is scheduled to begin on January 26, 2025. This announcement comes as the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project nears completion, with major construction work, including tunnels and bridges, wrapping up. The service will offer direct rail connectivity to Kashmir, bridging the region with the rest of the country for the first time.

This new rail link is expected to revolutionize travel to and from the Kashmir Valley, providing a significant boost to local economies and tourism. The inaugural service will coincide with the Republic Day celebrations, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to unveil the New Delhi-Baramulla railway line. The iconic Chenab Bridge, set to be the highest railway bridge in the world, will be one of the project’s key highlights, adding an extraordinary engineering feat to the landscape.

The project is poised to reshape regional connectivity, making travel faster, safer, and more accessible, while reinforcing India’s commitment to modernizing its infrastructure.
