Delhi Assembly Elections 2025: Intense AAP vs BJP Battle as Voter Turnout Hits 19.95% by 11 AM

The Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 kicked off with a 19.95% voter turnout recorded by 11 a.m. on February 5. Polling began at 7 a.m. across all 70 constituencies and will continue until 6 p.m. To encourage maximum participation, the government has declared a paid holiday for both public and private sector employees. This high-stakes election is primarily a face-off between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). While AAP is banking on its anti-corruption image and welfare policies, recent corruption allegations have put the party on the defensive. Meanwhile, BJP is aiming to capitalize on AAP’s challenges and return to power in Delhi after nearly three decades. With over 15 million eligible voters, the Election Commission has put in place tight security measures to ensure a smooth and fair voting process. Vote counting is scheduled for February 8, with results expected the same day.
