Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve on Friday criticised the Maharashtra government over its response to the drought situation, accusing it of lacking both administrative efficiency and sensitivity towards people affected by the crisis.
In a post on X, Danve, a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), said the state was facing not only a water shortage but also what he described as a “drought of intelligence and sensitivity” within the government.
Questioning the government’s financial priorities, he pointed out that drought-affected people were being given an initial assistance of Rs 5,000 ahead of Diwali, while the curtains installed in the Mantralaya, the state secretariat, reportedly cost Rs 10,000.
Danve used the comparison to highlight what he described as the government’s insensitivity towards people struggling with the drought.
