CJI Sanjiv Khanna’s Vision: Making Courts More Accessible and User-Friendly

New Delhi: In a bold move to reshape India’s judicial landscape, Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna has unveiled his vision to make the country’s courts more accessible, efficient, and user-friendly. Upon assuming office as the 14th CJI, Justice Khanna emphasized his commitment to judicial reforms that will prioritize ease of access for the common man while enhancing the efficiency of the legal system.

In his inaugural statement, Justice Khanna outlined plans to modernize the judicial process, making it simpler and more approachable for citizens. He recognized that reducing the complexities and delays that plague the system is crucial to ensuring justice for all.

“We must create a transparent, efficient, and user-friendly judicial system that truly serves the public,” CJI Khanna stated. “The courts must adapt to the needs of the people, ensuring accessibility for all, irrespective of one’s background or financial standing.”

A key pillar of his reform agenda is the extensive use of technology in the judicial process. CJI Khanna stressed the expansion of e-courts and digital services as essential tools to streamline case management, reduce delays, and enhance transparency in the legal system.

The new CJI also called for a united effort from all sectors of the judiciary to build public trust and ensure that justice is delivered swiftly and fairly. His vision aims not only to make the judicial process more responsive to citizens’ needs but also to uphold the system’s integrity and independence.
