Centre Unveils TV Ratings Policy 2026 to Ensure Transparency

The Centre on Friday released the TV Ratings Policy 2026, introducing new guidelines to regulate television audience measurement in the country. The policy aims to ensure transparency, independence, and accountability in TV rating systems.

According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the framework sets clear standards for registration, operation, audit, and oversight of rating agencies.

The new policy replaces the earlier guidelines issued in 2014. Officials said the updated norms are intended to strengthen the credibility of TV ratings and improve regulatory oversight.
