New Delhi: The Centre has sanctioned more than ₹1,200 crore to 10 states under the Prime Minister Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY) to support agricultural development and improve farmers’ livelihoods.
The sanction letters were handed over by Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan during the second day of the National Agriculture Conference – Rabi Campaign 2026.
West Bengal received the highest allocation of ₹290 crore, followed by Haryana with ₹198 crore, Chhattisgarh ₹181 crore, Arunachal Pradesh ₹154 crore, Bihar ₹114 crore, Karnataka ₹104 crore, Mizoram ₹75 crore, Himachal Pradesh ₹64 crore, Jharkhand ₹58 crore and Punjab ₹43 crore.
Addressing Agriculture Ministers and senior officials from various states, Chouhan called for cooperation between the Centre and states under the spirit of ‘Team Agriculture’ to strengthen food security and improve farmers’ incomes.
He said governments and political parties may change, but the country and its farmers remain permanent, stressing that agricultural policy should focus on practical solutions and farmers’ interests.
Chouhan said the Union Government was working beyond policy formulation by ensuring timely release of funds to states so that schemes could be implemented without delay.
Union Ministers of State for Agriculture Ram Nath Thakur and Bhagirath Choudhary, Agriculture Secretary Atish Chandra, ICAR Director General M.L. Jat, senior officials, scientists and representatives of agricultural institutions attended the conference.
